WHO WE ARE?
The Gobardanga Renaissance Institute (GRI) has a rich 50-year history since its inception in 1967, starting with science club activities that gained local popularity. The institute organized science exhibitions, discussions, trips to scientific places, and more, significantly contributing to science education and awareness. In 1973, the GRI was officially established, with the first significant public event being the participation in the National Children’s Science Exhibition inaugurated by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Activities
Ramendra Sundar Trivedi Vigyan Mandap
In 1974, we hosted our first science exhibition, named ‘Ramendra Sundar Trivedi Vigyan Mandap,’ at the
Shishubhuvan Sengegaon Vidyalaya
In 1977, we established our first ‘Shishubhuvan Sengegaon Vidyalaya’ at Gobardanga as a private initiative for child education.
Beekeeping Training Program
G.R.I.’s beekeeping training program, launched in 1976, offers hands-on instruction in modern beekeeping techniques.

We celebrate 50 years of the Gobardanga Renaissance Institute. As president, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the journey we have undertaken together. From our humble beginnings as a small science club to becoming a symbol of education, culture, and community development, our institute has consistently strived to inspire and uplift society. Our unwavering commitment to promoting scientific temper, environmental sustainability, human rights, and the arts has touched countless lives and will continue to do so.
Our achievements are a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our members, supporters, and the community at large. As we look to the future, we remain constant in our mission to create a society rooted in knowledge, creativity, and compassion. Together, let us continue to build a harmonious and enlightened world.
